Sedan Chair Photograph Picture
This is a picture, taken at the National Museum of Scotland. It portrays a sedan chair, which would have been used by a doctor to move around Edinburgh in (relative) safety and comfort (!!) in the 18 & 19 th century. What is missing from the photograph is the two wooden boards which would have been the means of carrying the chair by the two "taxi" drivers. |
