Scotland Teatime Treats Ideas
Whisky and Chocolate Crunch (Sweet) Recipe
This is a recipe for a rich pudding or sweet. It uses Scotland's national drink of whisky (note it isn't spelt whiskey-that is Irish) and its other passion - chocolate.
Chocolate and Whisky Crunch
Ingredients
6 oz chocolate digestive (milk or plain)
1 pint whipped cream
3 tablespoons whisky
1 oz toasted split almonds
2 drops vanilla essence
2 egg WHITES
1 oz caster sugar
Method:
Crush the biscuits then spread them equally into 6 sundae glasses. In a bowl, mix/whip the cream, whisky, sugar and vanilla until stiff.
In a different bowl, whip the egg whites into a stiff mixture. Spoon equal quantities alternately into the dishes covering the biscuits. Chill, then decorate with the any of toasted almonds, some grated chocolate, sugar beads (hundreds and thousands) etc according to taste.
