Rumbled smoked salmon Recipe
This is recipe which uses Smoked salmon. It gets its rather strange name from another dish called rumbledethumps which is a simples Scottish Borders dish of potatoes and cabbage. The addition of smoked salmon and cream gives this dish a unique and interesting flavour.
Rumbled Smoked salmon Recipe
Ingredients
8oz sliced smoked salmon
3fl oz soured cream
3oz butter
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1lb cooked mashed potato
8oz cooked cabbage
Method
Pre heat the oven to 375. Grease a large baking tray. Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the onion until soft. Remove from the heat and add the cabbage and potatoes. Season with salt and pepper and mash/mix together well.
Shape the mixture into rounds (approx. 3/4 inch thick) and the diameter of a mug (this is not an exact science and your own personal preference is fine). Place these rounds onto the baking tray and place in pre heated oven for 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool then serve with a slice of smoked salmon wrapped around them. Place a teaspoon of soured cream on the top.
This recipe should serve between 4 and 6 people.
