Black Forest Crumpet

This is a light sweet or pudding from Italy. Although light it is of course still rich with calories (and taste!)
For US to UK equivalents see this rough guide

Recipe Ingredients:

  • Cocoa Powder - 4 tbsp
  • Flour - 1/4 cup
  • Fructose - 200gm
  • Egg Whites - 4
  • Salt to taste (pinch)
  • Vanilla Powder - 2 tbsp
  • Cherries - 400 gm
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp

Method:

Take a bowl and mix the flour with half of fructose and cocoa powder with salt thoroughly. Keep it aside. Take a small bowl and add egg white and blend it. When done add the other half of fructose and vanilla powder to the egg mixture and make a smooth paste. Mix the cocoa powder mix with the egg mixture and divide in to equal portions and season them with cherries and dry fruits.

Bake them at 400F in a pre-heated oven for 30 mins. Once done take it and cool in fridge and when serving sprinkle sugar on each one if desired.

As with all recipes which involve cooking and baking a sensible approach must be taken especially when dealing with warm or hot (temperature) ingredients. If you are unable to take due care, please do not attempt to make any of these recipes. All recipes are tried at your own risk.
