old historic railway poster photograph picture

Based mainly in Edinburgh the main collection of the National Museum of Scotland is well worth seeing and the pictures on the following pages will give a flavour of what is on display.

old historic railway poster photograph picture

This picture shows one of the many rail posters used in the early days of travel, to entice the holiday or vacation explorer. This photograph shows an advertisement for the West Highland Line which runs between Fort William and Mallaig. It is a famously scenic train ride and is one of BBC's 10 Great Railway Journeys of the World.
