This would be a typical tea time treat in Scotland. The recipe is a reasonably simple one if you are used to cooking and baking. Marmalade and Ginger Slice Ingredients:
Method:
Sift all the dry ingredients into a bowl leaving a "well" in the centre. Into this well, pour the syrup mixture and the beaten egg. Beat the mixture until thoroughly mixed.
Pour into the tin and bake for approx 45 minutes until it is firm and golden in colour. the cake should then be ready to cool on a wire tray and to cut up into slices
