LOCH FLEET is situated near Golspie in Sutherland. It has a most unusual coastal situation with a river flowing through a tidal basin. To highlight this, the picture below is taken at low tide (unusual in a land locked Loch). It is regarded as a National Nature Reserve which highlights not only its importance but also the rich abundance of wildlife and plants which can be found. Indeed, common seals regularly haul themselves onto the mudflats at low tide and you can enjoy great views of wildfowl and waders.
