Bothwell Castle Photograph
Bothwell Castle is the largest and finest 13th century stone castle in Scotland, much fought over during the Wars of Independence.
Although in the main a ruin now, part of the original circular keep survives, but most of the castle dates from the 14th and 15th centuries.
This property is presently managed by Historic Scotland.
